Pension reclaim specialist AskRose has strengthened its operations team with the appointment of Andrew McGovern as credit control manager.
Altrincham-headquartered AskRose supports women affected by issues linked to Home Responsibilities Protection (HRP) and other state pension entitlement discrepancies, helping claimants navigate complex Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) correction processes.

In this new role Andrew will lead the support clients receive through to the point of payment once a claim has been approved. Andrew and his team will ensure AskRose clients receive the pension money they’re owed as quickly as possible and check the repayments are correct.
Andrew brings 16 years’ industry experience, most recently as Credit Control Project Manager at JLA, a role he progressed to after having started as a credit controller. As part of the leadership team at JLA, he managed a large team collecting £10-15 million each month while reducing risk across the business.
Prior to JLA, Andrew began his career at the Co-Operative Bank, working within their collections department. He has worked extensively with vulnerable individuals, an experience AskRose says it was central to his appointment given the sensitivity of the client base it supports.

Elaine Walker, AskRose director, said:
“It was important to us that someone with genuine experience of working with vulnerable people took on this role. Andrew’s track record and ability give us real confidence that clients will be looked after properly right through to receiving their money.
“At AskRose, Andrew will build the business’s operations function from the ground up as the business continues to scale support for individuals potentially affected by underpayments linked to Home Responsibilities Protection (HRP), a scheme designed to protect the state pension rights of parents and carers.
“We are investing heavily in the team and infrastructure at AskRose in coming weeks so we are in the best possible position to help more clients reclaim the pension payments that they are legally entitled to.”
Historic HMRC errors meant that some HRP entitlement was not correctly recorded, leaving thousands of women with lower state pensions than they should have received.
HMRC recently announced that claimants using reclaim specialists, like AskRose, can now apply for their fair share of the pension pot, with claims worth up to £8,377.
Andrew, 42, from Salford, said:
“Joining AskRose gave me an opportunity I may never have again – to build a credit control function completely from scratch.
“Knowing that the work directly helps people finally receive money they’re owed, often after years of waiting, is what makes it feel worthwhile.
“In the short time I’ve been here, I’ve been struck by the strength of the team and the sense of purpose behind the work. It’s a genuinely exciting challenge, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”
