CarMoney has launched a new franchise in the East of England, delivering finance and business support designed for local car dealerships.
Based in Peterborough, James Ellwood will lead CarMoney East, covering Bedford, Peterborough, and Milton Keynes. With a deep understanding of the region and a proven track record in the motor finance sector, James is set to deliver real value to dealers seeking smarter, faster finance solutions.
With over eight years of experience in the industry, James previously worked at Close Brothers Motor Finance, where he supported motorcycle dealers across the South of England. He later held senior positions at Billing Finance near Northampton, including sales manager, where he led a team of over 35 brokers nationwide.
Explaining his decision to launch his own business, James Ellwood said: “After spending years working within large finance companies, I recognised that dealers increasingly want a more agile and tech-enabled approach to finance. CarMoney stood out for its innovation, its hands-on support model, and the strength of its lender panel. This is a brand that’s moving fast, and I wanted to be part of something where I could directly influence growth, both for my dealer partners and for my own business. I’ve lived in Peterborough all my life and know this region inside out, which puts me in a great position to hit the ground running and deliver real impact.”
As part of the expanding CarMoney franchise network, the East of England territory gives dealers access to over 20 lenders, instant credit banding, and soft search tools that don’t impact credit scores. Integrations with AutoConvert, Codeweavers, and iVendi make the platform even more dealer-friendly, helping them offer fairer, faster finance solutions to a broader customer base.
Wendy Taylor, head of franchise at CarMoney, commented: “With his roots firmly in Peterborough and a deep understanding of the regional market, James is well-placed to drive growth across CarMoney East. His mix of local insight and national experience makes him a perfect fit for our network. The CarMoney model continues to attract experienced professionals who want to build something of their own while giving dealers more of what they need to succeed.”
Backed by the Peter Vardy Group, CarMoney’s flexible, customer-focused model spans cars, motorbikes, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), and motorhomes, with finance options available for everyone, from prime to sub-prime borrowers. Franchisees benefit from exclusive territories, scalable investment options, and the backing of a trusted brand.
