South West Housebuilder Donates Over £80,000 to Local Charities

Local charities in the South West received a significant boost in 2024 as housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes South West donated more than £80,000 to support community initiatives.

As part of its commitment to creating lasting legacies in the communities where it develops, the company provided £80,877 in funding over the past year. Among the beneficiaries was City to Sea, a pioneering Bristol-based environmental charity dedicated to tackling plastic pollution in oceans. The donation supported the charity’s network of over 300 community initiatives, many powered by volunteers.

Megan Mitcham, head of corporate partnerships at City to Sea, expressed her gratitude, stating:
“The £1,500 contribution from Barratt David Wilson Homes South West will greatly support our relentless pursuit of a cleaner, plastic-free future.”

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, highlighted the company’s dedication to community welfare:
“We’re proud to have supported so many incredible charities including City to Sea and other community groups over the past 12 months that work tirelessly to improve the lives of those in need. Their dedication and impact are truly inspiring, and we’re delighted that our donations have played a part in helping them reach even more people.

“As we look to 2025, we remain committed to making a positive difference in our communities and continuing our support for these vital organisations.”

The donations are part of the company’s ongoing initiative, which allows each division to contribute £1,500 monthly to local groups improving the quality of life in their areas.
