Malt appoints Claire Lebarz as Chief Technology Officer

Malt, Europe’s largest freelancing platform with over 800,000 freelancers and consultants, has appointed Claire Lebarz as Chief Technology Officer. In addition to this new position, Claire will continue with her role as Chief AI Officer and join the company’s Executive Committee.

Claire brings more than a decade of technology-leading experience. This includes a six-year tenure at AirBnB, where she was part of the leadership team for the company’s data division while also serving as an advisor and business angel to multiple start-ups.

Since joining Malt in 2022, Claire has been responsible for data and AI. She has been pivotal in expanding the technical capabilities of Malt’s marketplace, including the launch of the AI-powered search functionality in November 2024. This development has significantly improved the way businesses match with skilled freelancers, cutting the process of finding top talent from days to seconds.

Vincent Huguet, Malt’s co-founder and CEO, said: “By becoming both Chief Technology Officer and Chief AI Officer, Claire Lebarz will accelerate Malt’s growth and development as a tech company. Claire is not only an expert in advanced Artificial Intelligence technologies; she has also proven to be an inspiring leader with a long-term vision of AI issues. We at Malt are fortunate to have her on our teams!”

“I would like to thank Vincent Huguet for his confidence and am very happy to take on additional responsibilities at Malt as CTO while joining the executive committee”, added Claire. “Thanks to the exceptional talent of the tech teams and the very rich community of freelancers on Malt, we have all the cards in hand to propel the company to the forefront of the AI revolution at the service of freelancers and a future human-centred world of work.”

Claire graduated from Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées and UC Berkeley.
